Hi, I’m Hilary Babon – Mom, wife, book nerd, and usually found eating or talking, often both. As a mother of two teenagers, my life is often loud, wild and unpredictable. It’s no wonder I’ve often felt overwhelmed and frazzled.
Over my 15-year social work career, I wore many professional hats, including counselor, clinician and educational consultant. Through those experiences, I learned a lot more about ADHD and how it manifests in women, especially. The more I learned, the more it resonated with me.
I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I was in my 30’s; I just learned to live with the symptoms because I didn’t know there was any other option. After a lot of trial and error, I found lots of ADHD lifehacks that helped me feel more productive and accomplished throughout the day. I have seen so many friends and clients alike struggle with poor self-esteem due to ADHD symptoms and I am committed to helping others avoid some of the hurdles I personally encountered over the last 30 years.
Hi! I'm Kate, aka HurriKate to my friends. Sometimes that means the whirlwind is made of sparkles, unicorns and gourmet donuts......but then there are those times that it's not nearly as fun.
Growing up I got by just doing the bare minimum, which eventually it became how I even identified myself - "can't finish tasks in a timely manner", "does not work to her full potential", and the more I was misunderstood, the more I hated myself.
I went back to school as an adult, but I still had trouble focusing - I struggled but went on to complete my Masters degree while working full time and pregnant with my first child.
I'm here to show you that ADHD doesn't have to be a disability. Make it work for you, so let's go!
